Dry Mouth In The Night

The king summoned you

2Sm.9.

PURPOSE: To teach the audience that our life can change, accepting the invitation of Jesus.

INTRODUCTION :

1 - For the year 1020 A to C. It happened one of the most fascinating stories throughout the Bible: David exercised mercy on one of the surviving relatives to Jonathan, David's friend.

2 - This story may well illustrate what Jesus wants with us through the grace of God.

I - I encourage someone in the house of Saul. 2S m. 9:1.

A- David was a man after God's heart, and in this case demonstrates, looking for someone in the house of Saul who could help. Although this did not suit him politically, because any descendant of Saul could claim the throne he occupied, he tried to find that person, for the sake of his friend Jonathan, and the covenant he made with this, 1Sm.20 :14-17.

B- David's attitude is like God: he always wants to favor us, 2P.3: 9.

C- The Lord wants you to befriend.

II, is a son of Jonathan named Mephibosheth.

A- Ziba informed about a descendant of King Saul Jonathan's son. When David heard that there was still someone's son and his friend was dead, her desire to help was greater because David loved deeply Jonathan 2Sm.1: 26.

B- Among the things reported Ziba said the following:

1 - said that was lame, V.3. Mephibosheth was lame because when I was five, he fell from the arms of a woman while fleeing to not dying, 2S.4: 4. The hectic life we \u200b\u200blive has led to a spiritual state broken. The little prince, Mephibosheth began living as a beggar, after feeling like a child, which was the center of the universe. Without understanding its short life changed completely, so much so that he could not even walk. All his childhood dreams were dashed, his life was destroyed. Dude, do not you passed the same to you? Be lame in Biblical times was a real tragedy. Even today people suffer from lameness, but mental limp [i] , as God seeks to give a place of honor and privileges.

2 - also said Mephibosheth lived in Lodebar , a region east of the Jordan River. This place was far from Jerusalem, where Mephibosheth hoped not to be found. But even there, I came to bring. God calls you, no matter where you are, the Lord knows your conditions, your disappointments, and wants to change forever the course of your life. You are in Lo Debar, but God calls you to Jerusalem, calling you to a different lifestyle, dignified and full of eternal blessings through Jesus Christ.

III-EL REY TE summoned. V.5

A- When the lame man said, Mephibosheth, the King calls you, his heart was filled with fear . He believed that the king wanted to kill him, and felt fear.

B- when Mephibosheth, son of Jonathan and grandson of Saul, came to David, bowed in reverence. - Mephibosheth! DAVID cried. "On the orders of His Majesty," he said. 2Sm.9 6.

1 - The way in which David uttered the name of Mephibosheth, an exclamation, in English we implies that for David, see the man was a source of great joy.

C- The great King is calling you, Is.1: 18: " The Lord says:" Come, let's discuss this issue. Though your sins be as red more vivid, I leave you white as snow, though they are as cloth dyed purple, I let them white as wool ". DHH.

IV "I'm just a dead dog. V.8.

A- Mephibosheth had a tough test on himself, "Why is this still Her Majesty his servant, if I am like a dead dog? "in his mind was hard to imagine that King David would notice him.

B- Similarly, there are millions and millions of people around the world believing and living like dead dogs.

1 - I remember in school, a boy, had a fellah, our neighbor, who called him the cowboy. He was a bully and neglected. When he became a young, good-looking ride was at parties and conquering women. Not many days ago you could see, completely changed: he had become a pauper, with long hair, dirty, carrying a bag with rubbish, and apparently looking for some waste in the trash that would be useful. What did the cowboy I hit rock bottom? His thoughts and the principles of himself.

2 - Saturday 20.11.1910, local newspapers ran a story about Haiti, which mentioned that these people, in hunger and disease, were preparing to elect a new president. But the sad thing was that the news was headed by a photograph of the corpse of a child who had died of cholera, according to some unofficial figures, more than 50.000 affected and more than 2000 deaths by cause. These people are resigned to live in subhuman standards of living. Why, if God the King has called all mankind to live a full life and joy, Jn.10: 10?

C- The sad concepts that people have of themselves due to what the devil came to do in mankind, steal, kill and destroy, Jn.10: 10. The enemy has raised questions about humanity that is only a dead dog.

D- The last in the house of Saul would no longer be one whom no one gave him courage. Would no longer be a dead dog living across the river, in Lo Debar. Dude, if you so far have felt slighted, not the value actually is, the devil is destroying your life, and peace has stolen knows that the King has commanded call to a life of happiness and joy.

V-NOT AFRAID, I'LL TREAT ME VERY WELL. V.7.

A- I will restore all the land of your grandfather, V.7. Mephibosheth no longer was in misery. God commands you to call to give you everything you own, the happiness in this world and eternal life by his side. HE.2 6.

B- 'll eat at my desk ... this was a very great privilege for those who considered a dead dog. David returned to Mephibosheth, honors that he did not think he had. In fact Mephibosheth was a prince, and the king's table was part of their privileges. At the king's table sat his children, his wife, and probably a few ministers of his kingdom. But now, Mephibosheth also had the privilege. How would look lame man entering the table next to princes? Although he was crippled at the table had the same status as the chief, because the king had given him that privilege. We are children of God by creation, and have been invited to the banquet Real Ap.3: 20. " Look, I'm knocking on the door, if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, at home and have dinner together . "

C- lame and forgotten man began to live in the palace, the king's house, and from that day fu dignified life through the mercy of David, which is a reflection of the great mercy that God has for men. After living in the house leaning Machir won, for kindness and mercy, a place next to King David.

D- suddenly crippled man who had nothing, only a poor self-concept, inherited much land, servants, and the privilege of being in the king's house, sitting at his table and eat with David. Just way changed the life of Mephibosheth five years, now his life changed for good, and all those years of suffering and longing had ended, when the lame man, answered the call of King .

CONCLUSION:

1 - God wants to give us a unique position invites us to his table, without taking into account our conditions. We can sit at the table of the great King, and feel under the same conditions to the angels.

2 - We are Mephibosheth, who have seen many broken dreams, our lives shattered and we have tried to stay away, as if we would not be found. But God knows us, wants to bring to his side, wants to give privileges, wants to sit at his table, and give a condition that we never expected.

3 - On this day Jesus insists invite you to the table with him, Ap.3: 20.

4 - In this story, Ziba is a symbol of Satan, who seeks to take away what belongs to you, Jn.10: 10; 2Sm.19: 28 do not let him take what is yours.

5 - Come to the table del Rey.

[i] limp mental state I call stubbornness and obstinacy of human beings to cling to an empty life and worthless, far from God, therefore, living in deplorable conditions.
